URBAN RENEWAL
1. London Bridge Tower
Our task was to research into the effects of the proposals on listed buildings, conservation areas, statutorily protected views of St. Paul's Cathedral, as well as the Tower of London World Heritage site. The subsequent analysis was used to prepare and give evidence to the planning inquiry. The proposals were supported by the Mayor of London, Southwark Council and Lord Rogers, but opposed by English Heritage. The Secretary of State granted planning permission in November 2003. Demolition is complete and piling began in March 2009
